Shaila Durcal is a strikingly beautiful 29 year-old singer-songwriter from Madrid, Spain.
She is the daughter of a legendary singer Rocio Durcal (who sold over 53 million records worldwide) who had a long successful career throughout Latin America becoming famous in the Mexican market by singing rancheras and mariachi music. She was known to many as “La Reina de las Rancheras” (The Queen of Rancheras) even though she is from Spain. Now her daughter is following the same musical career path.
Has lived in Mexico since 2001.
Corazon Ranchero is schedule for release July 14th. Shaila recorded covers of songs by famous contemporary artists from various genres from pop, regional Mexican, and adult contemporary, and sings them in the traditional Ranchera style. Covers include songs by artists such as Marco Antonio Solis, Vicente Fernandez, Javier Solis, Juan Gabriel 7 others.
Corazon Ranchero is produced by Fernando de Santiago (worked with Vicente Fernandez, Pepe Aguilar and Shaila Durcal) & Manuel Cazares (Pepe Aguilar, Los Temerarios); and Armando Avila (La Quinta Estacion).
Performed in 2007 at the Latin Grammy Award show the song “Amor Eterno” (famous Juan Gabriel song also previously performed by her mother)
Sang with Nikka Costa on TVE when she was 12 years-old (1991) on Spanish TV show Noches de Gala singing a Spanish/English song “Mi Primer Amor”
