Los Angeles, CA (January 21, 2010) - Juan Luis Guerra and Las fundaciones Sur Futuro announced that between April and May of this year there will be a concert at the Olympic Stadium “Félix Sánchez" to raise funds for the construction of a children's hospital in Haiti.
Last week, Juan Luis Guerra informed through a statement he would be joining forces with Las fundaciones Sur Futuro directed by doña Melba Segura de Grullón to help with the recovery of the Haitian people after being devastated by the earthquake.
Amarilys Germain, speaking on behalf of Juan Luis Guerra revealed that there have already been discussions with many international artists who have given their support to the initiative.
Mrs. Melba Segura de Grullon, president of Las fundaciones Sur Futuro, stated that help and donations have already started to pour in.
"We have already received significant amount donations which will be earmarked for the construction of the hospital that will care for the children of Haiti. These contributions will supported by what is generated by the concert," said Segura de Grullón.
The concert does not yet have a set date, as details and artist calendars and participation are still being confirmed.
“But in a few weeks, we will be announcing the date of the concert,” stated Amarilys Germán.
Germán also stated that conversations have already taken place with the Haitian government in regards to the initiative and as soon as the location of the new hospital has been defined, it will be announced and construction will be begin.
Las fundaciones Sur Futuro and Juan Luis Guerra's social work focuses on aiding families in need after being affected by natural disasters.

Los Angeles, CA (21 de enero del 2010) - Las fundaciones Juan Luis Guerra y Sur Futuro anunciaron que entre los meses de abril y mayo de este año se realizará un concierto en el Estadio Olímpico “Félix Sánchez” para recaudar fondos para la construcción de un hospital infantil que será instalado en Haití.
La semana pasada, Juan Luis Guerra informó a través de un comunicado, que se unía nuevamente a la Fundación Sur Futuro que dirige doña Melba Segura de Grullón para gestionar ayuda que contribuyan con la recuperación del pueblo haitiano luego de haber sido devastado por un terremoto.
Amarilys Germán, hablando en representación de Juan Luis Guerra reveló que ya se han hecho gestiones ante artistas internacionales los cuales han dado su apoyo a la iniciativa.
De su lado, la señora Melba Segura de Grullón, presidenta de la Fundación Sur Futuro, explicó que las acciones que inició la semana pasada han comenzado a dejar sus frutos.
“Ya hemos recibido importantes donaciones que serán destinadas para la construcción de un hospital que dará atenciones a los niños y niñas de esa nación. Esos aportes se sumarán a los recursos que genere el concierto”, indicó Segura de Grullón.
Se informó que el día en que será celebrado el show aún no se ha establecido, debido a que se está coordinando con la agenda de cada uno de los artistas que participarán.
“Dentro de pocas semanas estaremos informando el día del show, pues aún quedan pendiente algunos detalles”, refirió Amarilys Germán.
Germán adelantó que ya han conversado con autoridades del gobierno haitiano a los que se les comunicó la iniciativa. “Tan pronto avance la reconstrucción de Haití, daremos a conocer el lugar donde se instalará el hospital”, comentó.
Las fundaciones Sur Futuro y Juan Luis Guerra desarrollan aquí una labor social que ha favorecido a familias que han sido afectadas por fenómenos naturales, así como jornadas independientes.
