Universal Music Latin @ The Latin Grammy's

UNIVERSAL MUSIC LATIN ENTERTAINMENT TOOK HOME 15 GRAMMYS Houston became the epicenter of the Latin music world as it hosted the 9th Annual Latin Grammy® Awards at the Toyota Center. Universal Music Latin Entertainment artists were present during this historic night to take home numerous awards and contribute to the night’s unforgettable performances. Juanes became the big winner of the night, taking home 5 Grammys, adding to the already impressive 12 Grammys he has won in the past. He set the tone for the entire opened the ceremony with a uplifting medley beginning with the Song of The Year, Video of the Year and Record of the Year, Me Enamora – then transitioned into his most recent hit “Odio Por Amor” – included in his latest production “La Vida… es un ratico Live!” . Following this, R&B superstar John Legend joined him onstage to perform Si Tú Estas Ahí. Another stellar performance CAME when Jenny Rivera surprised her fans by having her brother Lupillo Rivera join her onstage for a stirring interpretation of "Sufriendo a Solas” – making this the first time they ever share the stage. She later joined in a trio by Olga Tañón, honoree and Latin music veteran Vicky Carr to perform "Cosas del Amor". Café Tacvba performed an emotional rendition of the Song of The Year nominee/winner: Esta Vez. Regional Mexican darlings and nominees Los Tigres del Norte also did a three song medley – including a song chosen by the fans through an Internet promotion. The set began with "Somos Más Americanos" followed by "Sangre Caliente" – their latest single in support of the upcoming release “Tu Noche con Los Tigres del Norte” - and "Mis Dos Patrias" – the winning song.

Continuing with the Regional Mexican genre, Banda El Recodo – another one of the night’s nominee/winner performed "Tómame o Déjame" – single included in their nominated album for Best Banda Music Album - "Que Bonito... ¡Es Lo Bonito!". The closer of the night was none other than flamenco superstar Rosario. With a chilling and powerful rendition of “No Dudaria” – song written and immortalized by her late brother in the late 70’s and which is included in the Best Female Pop Vocal album nominated Parte de Mi, it was the perfect song to end the night. She was joined on stage by Juanes, flamenco pioneer Antonio Carmona, Jeremías, Tommy Torres, Olga Tañón and Belinda.
Amongst the presenters were Mario Alberto Zapata and Jose Mario Elizondo of the group Pesado and Vicky and Marisol Terrazas of Los Horóscopos de Durango who presented the award for Best Album Pop Male to Juanes.
